Washington [US], February 2 (FeedsIndia): Singer-songwriter The Weeknd recently fed the frontline healthcare workers at a black-owned restaurant in Tampa, Florida, in an attempt to celebrate the first day of Black History month.
The singer who will headline the halftime Super Bowl LV, according to Variety, chose Mama’s Southern Soul Food to get the meals for the AdventHealth Carrollwood healthcare staff.
In appreciation of their efforts to stand in the front line and save lives, the hospital received about 150 meals provided to them by Postmates. The Weeknd also released a Black-Owned national merchant collection in collaboration with Postmates.
Moreover, On February 7, The Weeknd’s grand performance at the Super Bowl event will take place.
Variety quoted The Weeknd as saying, “We all grow up watching the world’s biggest acts playing the Super Bowl and one can only dream of being in that position. I’m humbled, honored, and ecstatic to be the center of that infamous stage this year.”
