Washington [US], February 16 (FeedsIndia): Wife of late television and radio host Larry King, Shawn King, plans to challenge his will in court. Reportedly, the will specified that his USD 2 million estate will be shared between his five children.
The broadcast legend’s handwritten will was recently revealed, according to Fox News, which allegedly claimed that his estate will be split among his five children, two of whom are already deceased.
Larry wrote the will on October 17, 2019, two months after he applied for divorce with Shawn.
The will does not include Shawn at all.
However, along with the remaining three, Larry King, Jr., Cannon, and Chance, his now-deceased children Chaia and Andy are named as beneficiaries.
Larry shared Cannon and Chance with Shawn.
King reportedly wrote in the text, according to People magazine “This is my Last Will & Testament. It should replace all previous writings. In the event of my death, any day after the above date I want 100% of my funds to be divided equally among my children Andy, Chaia, Larry Jr., Chance & Cannon.”
Shawn King added, however, that a plan was already in place between her and Larry that was not represented in the alleged text “We had a very watertight family estate plan,”
Shawn instated Page Six of a plan she and Larry drew up “as a couple” in 2015.
Shawn reported that she talked regularly with her husband and said that she was never made aware of an amendment to his will.
Not only did the deaths of his children in 2020 complicate the will, but King also told Page Six before his death that he and Shawn had once again been close, but it is uncertain whether divorce was excluded from the table.
The ‘Larry King Live’ host sadly passed away at the age of 87. He was treated at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles prior to his death after he contracted COVID-19 in December, but his death was not caused by the novel coronavirus.
